Khamfeuane Sioudom is Associate Professor (PhD) in the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Laos. He has over 18 years of experience as a teacher, researcher and consultant in the fields of mechanical engineering, hydrology, water resources and environmental engineering. Since 2003, his research has focused on the relationships between surface run-off and groundwater, sedimentation transport and nutrient loads into rivers (Lao PDR) and the coastal zone (e.g., Ishigaki City, Okinawa, Japan). Since 2008, he is the coordinator of the international graduate studies in “Environmental Engineering and Management”, an interdisciplinary course offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Laos. The course is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and other international partners (University of Siegen, Germany; Water Resources University of Hanoi, Vietnam and Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, Thailand. He is also a collaborative researcher within the Asian-Pacific Network).
