Saysamone Phothisat holds a Master Degree in Forestry. He has more than 20 years of work experiences in various sectors. From 1987 to 1988, he worked as a teacher for the Vocational Training College of Forestry in Borlikhamxay Province. From 1988 to 1992 he worked as head of the District Unit in the Sikhottabong District, Vientiane Capital. From 1992 to 1996 he was vice-head of the District Forest Office in the Sikhottabong District, Vientiane Capital. From 1996 to 1998 he completed a master degree in Malaysia. From 1998 to 1999 he was vice-head of the Allocation of Land and Forest Office, Vientiane Capital and then as head of the Sikhottabong Agriculture and Forest Office, Vientiane Capital. Subsequently we has held positions as deputy director in the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Vientiane Province. , an expert for the Forest Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and director of the Department of Forest Protection and Reforestation, Department of Forestry. Since 2011 he has been deputy director of the Department of Forest Resource Management, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
